Technical Specifications

The SGM SRP Separator is an ultra-high gradient permanent magnet head pulley mounted on its own frame, supplied with its own belt, typically much thinner than traditional conveyor belts. The result is a reduced distance between the material being processed and the magnets.

Unlike ferrous steel, stainless steel also has other metals such as chromium, nickel and molybdenum. The ferrous component, therefore, is reduced compared to that contained in the steel composed mainly of iron and carbon. It is made with components studied and combined with each other in order to obtain an optimized removal in the metal recovery process. The high performance of the machinery is guaranteed by the innovation in the combination of the different elements that make up it forming a special magnetic circuit design.

Technical characteristics

  • Extended head pulley diameter (300 mm/450 mm)
  • Head pulley composed of permanent magnetic neodymium blocks
  • Reduced conveyor thickness (2.5 mm)
  • Reduced distance between carpet and transported material
  • Suitable for metal recovery from low magnetic scrap

Optional features

  • Presence of a roller separator
  • Brush cleaning system for the conveyor belt
  • Presence of an air jet for cleaning the splitter and conveyor belt
  • Vibrating feeder operation

Operation

The head pulley is composed of permanent “Ultra-High Gradient” magnets, structured in neodymium blocks, while its diameter is increased up to 300 mm or 450 mm (depending on the model).

The conveyor belt on which the industrial recycling material travels is thinner than the traditional one: its thickness is 2.5 mm against the typical 7-9 mm of generic carpets. The result is a reduced distance between the material being processed and the magnets, which generates an increased adhesive force, which is necessary for the separation of scrap with low magnetic capacity.

Dynamic SRP Models

SGM Magnetics produces four SRP models, two with 300 mm (12 inches) diameter magnetic pulleys and the other two with a larger diameter (450 mm/18 inches).

Each model has different dimensions, weight and average processing capacity of the materials (expressed in tons per hour) to adapt to specific production needs.
