Technical Specifications
The Dynamic Magnetic Pulley (Model DSRP) is a new generation separator that achieves more refined and rigorous performance than the traditional magnetic pulley.
Unlike the traditional magnetic pulley, the magnetic pulley of the Dynamic SRP does not directly drive the separator belt but rotates inside a shell that rotates at a slightly higher speed than the magnetic pulley. It allows the recovery of ferrous material from scrap and scrap thanks to a system based on different speeds between the conveyor belt and the rotation of the magnet.
Magnetic residues in ASR below 40 mm in size represent about 20-40% by weight with about 5 – 15% of good ferrous content that is generally lost in this fraction. The DSRP SGM is designed to recover these profitable fractions of ferrous material.
Technical characteristics
- Maximum material size is 40 mm
- Independent variable speed of conveyor belt and dynamic magnetic pulley
- Permanent magnet drum prevents ferrous material anchored to the pulley instead of falling into the collection hopper
- Waste of ferrous material is possible if the waste to be selected is wet
Optional features
- Presence of an air jet for cleaning the splitter and conveyor belt
- Brush cleaning system for the conveyor belt operation
Operation
Unlike traditional models, the Dynamic SRP magnetic pulley does not rotate the conveyor belt, but rotates independently inside an insulating casing, which instead rotates at the same speed as the conveyor belt.
The waste material travels at the speed of the conveyor belt, while the ferrous one suffers an increased adhesive force, thanks to the higher speed set on the Dynamic SRP pulley. When waste is placed at the head of the belt, the belt attracts the ferrous components that flow on it, releasing them during the rotation in a special hopper. The non-ferrous material, however, is immediately diverted by the kinetic and gravity force to another hopper once it reaches the point where the conveyor belt rotates in the opposite direction.
The separation between ferrous and non-ferrous material is improved by the slightly higher speed of the dynamic magnetic pulley than that of the conveyor belt. This difference can be set thanks to a variable frequency drive (Variable Frequency Drives – VDF), according to the material to be separated and the need for recycling.
SGM Dynamic SRP minimizes the waste of the removal process thanks to the further use of a permanent magnet drum that ensures the removal of the ferrous material from the magnetic pulley, so that it falls into the hopper.
In addition, the inclination of the drum and splitter are adjustable to obtain the best possible performance according to the size of the material to be deferred and the degree of purity required in the separation process.
Models Dynamic SRP
SGM Magnetics produces three models of dynamic magnetic pulleys, distinguished by size and average processing capacity (tons per hour), which can oscillate according to the weight of the material to be selected and the percentage of ferrous material contained in it.
