Special Electro Permanent Lifting Magnets
Flux Measuring Device (FMD)
Enhanced Safety for Lifting Operations
The SGM Flux Measuring Device (FMD) is an integrated safety system designed for our electro-permanent magnets. Connected to the control panel, it provides real-time feedback to the operator, verifying adequate contact between the magnet and the load prior to each lift. This ensures safe and reliable material handling.
An air gap between the magnet’s pole shoes and the load significantly reduces lifting capacity. The larger the air gap (indicating poor contact), the greater the magnetic flux dispersion, resulting in diminished lifting force.
If the FMD detects insufficient contact, the lifting function is automatically disabled, allowing the operator to reposition the magnet for optimal engagement. This vital safety feature minimizes the risk of dropped loads and enhances operational efficiency.
SGM boasts extensive experience and a proven track record in supplying electro-permanent magnets for remote slit coil lines.
Convection Electro Permanent Magnet (EPCLM)
Designed for High-Temperature Materials
SGM’s proprietary EPCLM electro permanent lifting magnet is specially designed to handle hot materials such as slabs and billets at temperatures up to 450°C (840°F). The unique convection-based design allows for an extended duty cycle, ensuring continuous operation and reliability in high-temperature environments.
