Bundles of rolled reinforced construction bars (re-bars)

With regards to the use of chains or belts, handling bundles with electromagnets is significantly faster and can be performed by a single operator from the crane cabin or via remote control. Using magnets provides more space for storing bundles, as there is no need for wooden spacers required when using chains or hoists. This leads to a more efficient use of available space. It is common to handle 1 to 5 or 6 bundles with a single magnetic system.

Since handling is done by only one operator, there is no need for additional personnel to be present on the ground or in the lorry during the maneuver, which would pose a risk. Extensible spreader beam solutions allow the handling of bundles with lengths of 6, 12, and 18 meters with minimal footprint, making operations easier for the operator, especially during loading and unloading of lorries.

SGM designs and manufactures the appropriate spreader beam for each application, whether it is a narrow beam of fixed length with auxiliary hooks or a motorized or non-motorized telescopic beam.

Contact occurs between the magnet pole shoes and the upper surface of the bundle, with energizing and de-energizing phases of the magnet taking place in 3 seconds.
