Technical Specifications
The SGM DBP suspended permanent magnet separator is a fixed hanging separator, designed similarly to the DBE models, for the extraction of ferrous materials from waste streams with a low iron content.
To ensure the best selection of a suspended magnetic separator suited to specific industrial recycling applications, the following factors must be considered:
- Size of ferrous particles – Smaller particles require a higher magnetic field intensity.
- Shape of ferrous material – Spherical objects are more difficult to extract than elongated shapes.
- Burden depth of the material – The higher the material layer, the more demanding the separation.
- Bulk density of the processed material – Higher density requires stronger magnetic performance.
- Moisture content – Wet materials increase the complexity of separation.
- Conveyor belt speed – Faster speeds require higher magnetic power.
- Conveyor belt width – The separator must be dimensioned to cover the entire belt width for effective separation.
How It Works
The DBP suspended permanent magnet separator is positioned above a conveyor belt, either along its length or, preferably, at the conveyor’s head pulley, where ferrous material is more easily extracted.
With its strong magnetic attraction field, the DBP magnet lifts ferrous particles from the conveyed material, separating them from the non-ferrous fraction, which continues along its natural trajectory into a designated discharge area.

DBP Models
SGM Magnetics offers 14 models of DBP suspended permanent magnets, each distinguished by:
- Power requirements
- Conveyor belt speed compatibility
- Magnet dimensions (length, width, height)
