Waste generation has increased massively around the world in recent decades, and there are no signs of it slowing down.
More than two billion metric tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) are generated worldwide every year, and this figure is expected to increase by roughly 70 percent by 2050*. This is due to a number of factors, such as population growth, urbanization and economic growth, as well as consumer purchasing habits.
The rapid increase in waste volumes necessitates the provision of proper waste treatment and disposal services. Despite this, only about 20% of waste is recycled each year, with a significant amount still being sent to landfills.
For the recycling of municipal solid waste SGM provides:
A complete range of ferrous separators (belt, drum and pulley magnets) and non-ferrous metals separators (eddy current separators up to 80”/ 2m wide) as well as colour sorters for the processing of Municipal Solid Waste in order to recover and valorise metals and plastic.
The design of the SGM separators reflects our extensive experience on MSW and are field-proven.
